Best Friends from TV from the 1990s will finally be getting on together in spring 2021 from the most long-awaited reunion on HBO Max.
Matthew Perry tweeted on Thursday, “Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!” However, the Hollywood Reporter has stated that the date isn’t certain but the filming is meant to occur in 2021.
Friends reunion was earlier set to debut in May 2020 as the inaugural offerings on HBO Max. The same had acquired all 236 episodes of the sitcom for $425 million.
Friends Missed The Event
However, the show had missed the blastoff because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Then filming was slated for August, but now again the same also fell through.
The cast members and HBO Max together have ruled out the virtual reunion, preferring to put the show before live audiences. Co-star Lisa Kudrow said to THR, “We haven’t all been in the same room in front of people — I mean, we have privately once many years ago but that’s it. The whole point of this is to be in the same room. That hasn’t changed. And HBO Max is being phenomenally patient and understanding.”
