Gabriel Luna, who played Ghost Rider in ABC’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., is joining the cast of HBO’s The Last Of Us series.
The live-action adaptation of the survival horror game “The Last Of Us” is going to start production in July and the cast has a brand new member joining them. The new member is none other than the very talented Gabriel Luna. The actor is popularly known for his work as Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.EL.D. and REV- 9 in Terminator: Dark Fate. Luna would play the role of Tommy Miller in the series who is the younger brother of the show’s lead, Joel Miller.
Tommy is a former soldier who hasn’t lost his spirit despite the fact that the world has turned upside down. Apart from Luna, the series also confirmed casting for Pedro Pascal, who would be playing the role of the show’s lead- Joel Miller, alongside Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey, who would appear as Ellie on the show. Craig Mazin is going to write and executive produce the series along with Neil Druckmann.
All About The Last Of Us
The Last Of Us is set in an post- apocalyptic world now over run by the undead. 20 years after the apocalypse, humanity faces extinction, while a handful of survivors struggle for their life. Joel Miller and his younger brother Tommy Miller spend the early years of the apocalypse surviving together, until Tommy decides to lead a more meaningful life and then joins the Fireflies, a revolutionary militia group fixated on revolting against military oppression in quarantine zones. Meanwhile, Joel is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, Ellie, out of an quarantine zone as she is immune to the mutation. Elie was going to be used in order to derive a cure for the disease.
The duo travelled across the United States to reach their destination and depended on each other during their journey. Upon the end of their journey, they successfully reached their destination where Ellie was to be experimented on. Later on, Joel learns that Ellie was going to die as a result of the experiments which motivates him to betray his employers and rescue Ellie. The series is expected to stick to its storyline from the game, without any major changes.
The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us 2 were very amazing and successful games, therefore the anticipation for the series is also very high. It is also going to be the largest film/television production in Canadian history, which adds up to the excitement for the series. With remarkable actors like Gabriel Luna and Pedro Pascal, the series already has an upper hand, with great chances of success. The series will likely wrap up production in June 2022 and air in mid-2023.
