The long-awaited battle of Kaijus Godzilla Vs Kong (Japanese for Giant Monster) is finally near.
Godzilla and King Kong are the two most popular monsters of the Kaiju Storyline and have had their stories told repeatedly on the big screen for decades. Although the Godzilla franchise is a Japanese media franchise owned by Toho while the King Kong franchise is an American media franchise owned by Warner Bros, both of them belong to the same “Kaiju” genre.
The MonsterVerse reboot by Legendary Entertainment started with the release of “Godzilla” in 2014, followed by the release of “Kong: Skull Island” in 2017 and “Godzilla: King Of Monsters” in 2019. It is expected to reach a final turning point with the two most powerful titans facing off each other in the upcoming movie, “Godzilla vs Kong”, which is premiering in March 2021.
The Final Trailer of Godzilla vs Kong
The final trailer for the upcoming “Godzilla vs Kong” movie was released a few hours ago today, i.e. on February 23, 2021. A city is seen, being wrecked by a rogue Godzilla. King Kong is seen being shipped on a carrier as a last hope against the rogue kaiju. Kaylee Hoddle playing a young girl, Jia, who is from Skull Island, can communicate with Kong, while the Might King of Skull Island also seems to be gentle towards her.
The most amazing part of the trailer was Kong about to fight Godzilla with a brand new axe which is seemingly made from one of Godzilla’s spikes. Shun Oguri is seen playing Ren Serizawa, the son of Dr. Ishiro Serizawa. The trailer also contains the entry of new cast members along with old cast members returning from the prior movies.
Godzilla vs Kong: What’s To Be Expected
The battle between these two titans was inevitable since the reboot of the monster verse considering the history that they share. While the “Godzilla vs Kong” movie comes out on March 26, 2021, internationally and on March 31, 2021, in the United States, here are a few things we can expect based on the trailer. Obviously, we’ll witness the two titans in a death battle in order to prove their supremacy over one another.
The final trailer of “Godzilla vs Kong” hints that the alpha of all monsters, Godzilla, has gone rogue and the king of Skull Island, Kong, is being expected to take care of this rogue titan. The trailer begins with a city being destroyed by what appears to be Godzilla. However, the red lighting and seemingly metallic exterior of this being hints that this might be “MechaGodzilla” defaming the King of Monsters. This can be supported by the Ren Serizawa scene in the trailer who is seen standing in front of a screen that contains a robotic blueprint of Godzilla on it. Godzilla was seen fighting the three-headed dragon kaiju, “King Ghidorah” in the 2019 “Godzilla: King of Monster”.
The post-credits scenes of the movie revealed that the evil organization “Apex” has acquired a decapacitated head of King Ghidorah. Also, the scene of the mine in Godzilla (2014) showed the discovery of the remains of Godzilla’s predecessor. Combining these two scenes, we get a high probability that apex has successfully constructed and is controlling a MechaGodzilla. While the world presumes it is the real Godzilla, Kong is brought in like the calvary and he go about to fight the titan. It can be expected that during the climax of the movie, Kong and the real Godzilla are engaged in battle, amidst which they discover the presence of MechaGodzilla, and the Duo teams up to defeat this man-made foe.
