Google Plus is now turning to Google Currents.
Google Plus says adieu to us all today. It is one of the failed social networks by Google. It is officially going today. Personal accounts from Google Plus have already shut down last year. Google has announced that Google Plus will be replaced for enterprise users with Google Currents. Google Currents will be available for users from today. Android l’s Google Plus and iOS apps are rebranded to Google Currents. This is definitely going to provide a change.
Google Currents will be focussing to help people in any organization to communicate with each other. Because it has given a focus to the enterprise. Users will now be able to see the posts and comments during discussion. The content will be posted and users could see the subject in a News Feed-like “home stream.” It can be rated by relevance or chronologically, according to Google. It can also be moderated by G Suite admins if it would be needed.
Google Play Store Revealed Some Pictures
Here is the idea for all of the curious users to check how the mobile app would look. Here are a few pictures from Google Play Store.
Google had begun a multiphase process in 2018. It was decided then to shut down Google Plus. The decision was made because of having “low usage and engagement”. The company has identified many security exposures that have persuaded the decision to shut it down even faster. This had accelerated the process by four months. Google Plus then shut down and the consumer accounts were deleted from Google Plus in April 2019. And then Google Currents in beta was shortly launched after.
Google Currents will not be the first product by Google that is named Currents. Until 2013, the company had offered a magazine app under the same name Currents. In 2013, the name was changed and Google rebranded it with Google Play Newsstand. This was further replaced by Google News.
