Google has reduced the number of apps from Google Play Store i.e android devices. Google has decided to remove 25 vicious apps from Google Play Store. It is done after EVINA, French Cybersecurity Firm, found out that those apps had Facebook hacking malware. This is so clear now to check your Android devices so you don’t have to end up installing a creepy app.
There is a list of apps available on the legal website having records of Google. The list includes pedometers, image editors, flashlight tools and many more. They are almost the same app. They do look different on the surface, also they have slightly different features. But, these apps have the same code that is malicious. The code snatches the Facebook login information.
The Vicious Apps Steal Personal Information
These apps were able to check if a Facebook app is open in the background. They snatch the browser tab. They use the information for fake Facebook login. This ends up persuading you to restore your details. The copy page would trace your login and password. Then it delivers it to a remote server that has since been close.
Thought apps that are removed from the Google Play Store will automatically be removed from the devices. But, it will be good if one double-checks. If one has the apps, then it is the need of the moment to check and change the Facebook passwords. It is time to enable two-factor authentication. There are a number of apps that have malware to steal the social media account’s information. These are used for fake logins. There is no way out. The strategy is only to use social media’s official platform to login.
Thus, it is important to have multiple layers of security on social media accounts. Even if somebody knows the password then also 2FA codes will help you.
