Batman tries to portray himself as DC’s most Solidarity superhero, but somewhere the Bat-family is the real strength of Batman. The greatest source of strength of Batman is his family “the Bat-family”. On the Bat day, 2020 Zack Snyder tweeted that “Batman is all of us”, to this he added, “He is our rage at injustice… he stands alone, as we all wish we could, in the face of a corrupt system which wishes to oppress and exploit… he is that broken child, searching the dark alleys of the human soul to bring balance to the world.”
This Poetic comment was a little clumsily worded and that invited some online controversy. Some fans argued that Batman was not alone even if he believes that he is. Some of the best Batman stories are the ones that taught the Dark Knight the value of other people in his life. After looking closely at the comic, the point fans were trying to prove was somewhere right but the criticism of Zack Snyder for this tweet was very much unfair.
Comics Prove Bat-family Is Greatest Strength Of Batman
From the start, Batman tried to take all the evil down by himself but it didn’t take long for him to realize that he needs friends and allies by his side. Commissioner Gordon was created in 1939, Dick Grayson’s Robin in 1940, and Alfred Pennyworth in 1943. Since then Batman is trying to prove that his best self comes out only when he is alone but still he has an ever-growing band of companions, sidekicks, students, and even lovers who fight alongside him.
Within no time they all become Batman’s family “The Bat-Family”, some members of this family like Catwoman and Robin made their way to become the iconic superhero and got adapted for both big and small screens. And this becomes the greatest strength of Batman.
Batman is one of the most fascinating characters DC ever had. He is basically a flawed man who doesn’t know the art of playing with other people. Steaming trust issues forced him to take all his close-one down.
Batman’s worst habit is pushing all his close one away but as hard as he tries somehow they all get back in his life. This was best expressed after the death of Jason Todd’s Robin in the epic story “A Death in the Family,” in which Joker brutally murdered Batman’s ward in order to torture him. But soon Tim Drake a genius who realized that Bruce Wayne needs a new Robin to take cover for him. This is a truth Batman will only acknowledge occasionally, whether in a rare moment of weakness or emotion. Now we all know the greatest strength of Batman.
But the truth is he needs his family, his friends around him, as it is the greatest strength of Batman. It is that one lesson Batman is trying to learn, He needs to reunite with the Bat-family to take down the Joker in Joker War. Scott Snyder a legendary Batman scribe recently suggested Batman the most hopeful superhero of DC comics. Viewed through this lens, the Bat-Family is the proof Batman works. Inspired by Batman’s example, they are others who soar through the skies of Gotham.
