Green Lantern Failure, The most well-known Green Lantern in the DC Universe has to be Hal Jordan. He is the most responsible being as his duties extend far beyond what he does for the planet Earth. Hal protects the lives of billions of people living on the planet Earth. The spacefaring legend does spend an undue amount of time on the planet Earth, balancing his life as a Justice League member or a civilian.
Green Lantern: From Beyond the Unknown
In Green Lantern: From Beyond the Unknown, Hal was seen neglecting other planets that were under his jurisdiction. This resulted in him facing violent haunt happenings around him. He was punished by Guardians as he spent his time defeating Amazo. What was the most important thing to handle at that time was to handle the devastation happening on another planet? At this time, he was again reminded of terror that the world was facing at the hands of villainous Gloom. Moreover, Hal couldn’t keep up with his duty as a Green Lantern as this resulted in The Gloom becoming interplanetary killers.
This is how Green Lantern accepted his mistake
When Hal was on the planet Earth, he many times avoided helping the faraway planet of Xadar. He should have helped at the time when it needed a Green Lantern the most. Also, he was the only one who was allotted Sector 2814. Though Earth already had a huge number of Superheroes that could protect the planet, still Hal neglected Xadar and stayed on the planet Earth. Even he admitted the mistake he committed.
However, Hal successfully stopped Xadarians from destroying the other planet. He was soon called back on the planet Earth by Justice League. But he refused to come back to the Earth for the meantime as he believed his duties on the other planet were still left. Finally, Hal returned as a hero for every aspect of sector 2814.
