In a new video released by Marvel Studios promoting the return of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. The video also teased some new, exciting Marvel projects that will be hitting the theatres soon. The filming got postponed
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy is all set to start its production in the latter half of 2021. Although the movie was set to start filming in 2019 James Gunn got briefly removed from the film because of some past offensive tweets. However, Disney quickly changed their mind but in the short time span of being removed from the film, Gunn signed to write and direct the Suicide Squad for Warner Bros and DC films and thus was committed to finishing this project first.
After completing the Suicide Squad, Gunn is currently filming an HBO Max spin-off focusing on John Cena’s character from the film Peacemaker, after the filming of which he will completely focus on the Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
What will Guardians of The Galaxy vol.3 have in store?
Gunn’s past comment on the movie has made it sound like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will say goodbye of sorts to this specific lineup of the Guardians of The Galaxy. Apart from the main cast, the rest of the cast has not yet been announced and the plotline is also under wraps. Gunn has said that the script of Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3 is still the same as the one they were planning to shoot in 2019 so not much has changed.
However, James Gunn has a lot on his shoulder as along with the Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3 he also has to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for Disney+ and scenes needed for the upcoming Disney World attraction Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. Given how engaging and ambitious Guardians of The Galaxy 2 was from a narrative point of view, we are excited to see what the 3rd movie will have in store.
