HBO has already started moving ahead with the prequel series of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon. The network has started the casting process for the upcoming show on HBO, according to the sources speaking to Entertainment Weekly.
This anticipated project will be set 300 years prior to the events that have taken place in Game of Thrones.
There is a tweet that confirms that Mr. Sapochnik will be directing the show. He is the one who has brought “Battle of the Bastards”, “Hardhome” and “The Long Night”. These are some of the best episodes of GoT out of the eight seasons.
President of HBO programming, Casey Bloys has said, “The Game of Thrones universe is so rich with stories.”
“We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan, and George.”
Fire and Blood
George R.R. Martin, the author of the original series, has released a book that has the details about the history of Targaryens. It is called Fire and Blood. This shows that HBO has a lot of material to work with.
Fire and Blood start with Aegon the Conqueror who is the king on the Iron Throne. Everyone in Westeros was keen to have the throne. The book is filled with details about how the dragon family held repeated attempts to take the throne. Their efforts are marked with their struggles according to their own ranks.
Dance of the Dragons, a civil war, has nearly destroyed the family and would have prevented Dany from being born ever. The series will be having 10 episodes for the first season of the prequel, according to the Entertainment Weekly.
There is no news about the casting of the House of Dragons (HBO). One of the fans posted, “Just waiting for the casting call for #HouseOfTheDragon @HBO because I BELONG in house Targaryen.”
And another fan out of the big audience wrote, “@hbo who do I need to talk to in casting!! Idgaf [I don’t give a f**k] if I get fed to a dragon. I want in! #houseofthedragon!”
Well, it seems there will be a lot of options for HBO to feature in the prequel of Game of Thrones.
