Man of Steel Superman Henry Cavill

Why Henry Cavill Is Not Happy With Black Superman’s Arrival?

There is a new Superman in town and the old one is not too happy about it.

The journey of the DC Extended Universe or DCEU has been full of ups and down, receiving massive love for their incredible cinematic projects and receiving criticism for certain aspects at the same time. Just like Iron Man laid the foundation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the foundations of the DCEU were lain by “Man of Steel” in 2013. The mightiest hero in DC Comics- “Superman” started the journey of the DCEU and hence endured a great burden. Henry Cavill, who plays the role of Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, has been one of the greatest actors, starring in numerous successful projects one after the other.

Black Superman

Henry Cavill’s Superman was showered with appreciation and love by the fans for his amazing portrayal of the character. Not only that but, it was his character that became the reason for the formation of DC’s superhero team- the Justice League. Cavill has played Superman in numerous DCEU projects like Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Justice League: Snyder Cut and there has been also news about him starring in the sequel of Man of Steel. However, DC’s latest action has made him upset and to the extent that he is no longer on speaking terms with Warner Bros. Let’s find out more about this development in detail.

Warner Bros’ Controversial Steps

There has been news about a Black Superman joining the fellow superheroes in the DCEU. Till now, everyone speculated that the new superman would be from a parallel universe like Calvin Ellis or Val- Zod from the comics but the latest development from Warner Bros suggests otherwise. Warner Bros recently announced that the new hero would be a reboot of the original hero with a colour bend and that they are looking for a black director for the movie. This news alone was bad enough for Henry Cavill as his character won’t be unique in the DCEU anymore. To Make it worse, Warner Bros dropped the announcement on Henry Cavill’s birthday on May 5th.

This particular move by Warner Bros has reportedly angered the entire fan base. As soon as the announcement was made, fans from all over the world started to express their anger on Twitter, criticizing Warner Bros’ step. Numerous user-made tweets like “Why WB gotta announce a Superman reboot on Henry Cavill’s birthday Pretty disrespectful”, “@warnerbros are just so out of touch and has no idea how to run @DCComics. it’s pretty messed up to announce a superman reboot on Henry Cavill’s birthday. The only dude who should be Kal El right now. Please just sell @DCComics to someone who will do the right thing for it”, and “So, on Henry Cavill’s birthday, WB decides to announce a reboot of his Superman? Wtf? WB continues to prove that they don’t deserve DC”.Not only the fans, but the actor too is very upset with this step by Warner Bros.

News digger Daniel Richtman claimed that Henry Cavil is no longer on speaking terms with Warner Bros about the Black Superman movie. He says that the actor has isolated himself from the studio and is not talking with them at the moment. “Henry is mad at WB for the Black Superman news and stopped talking to them,” says Richtman. We already established what an important asset Henry Cavill is for the DCEU and the studios have already faced a lot of criticism for their various steps and therefore such a move may result in their downfall with the fans boycotting all DCEU projects that hit the theatres.

Henry Cavill Black Superman DC

Though the latest news suggests that Henry Cavill is not being replaced and this new hero would be Kal El from different earth much like Robert Pattinson’s Batman, still making this announcement on Cavill’s birthday was a pretty rude move and is surely going to cost both the Warner Bros and the DCEU. Cavill has expressed his keen desire to keep playing the character and let’s hope that we do not lose our Superman because of Warner Bros’ stupidity.
