Scarlet Witch lift Mjolnir, More than one Avenger has proved his worthiness to lift Thor’s mighty hammer-Mjolnir. Captain America has proved his worthiness as he has lifted the hammer many times that too in both the MCU and the comics. Also, in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Vision wielded Mjolnir and thereby proved his worth. What happened in both these cases was that the hammer itself acknowledged the virtue innate in these superheroes. Moreover, there many ways to lift Mjolnir that will be demonstrated by the Scarlet Witch.
The powerful Avenger, the Scarlet Witch displays a “Chaos Magic” in the comics and may wield it in the MCU. That depends on the previews for WandaVision. However, the magic that Scarlet Witch possesses could achieve some extraordinary feats. One of them being able to lift Thor’s hammer Mjolnir in a unique way.
Why is Wanda not “worthy” of lifting Mjolnir in a similar way as Thor and Captain America are?
While Wanda is unquestionably powerful and has always stood up for the good. However, she is not at all “worthy” of Mjolnir in a way that Thor and Captain America are. In comics as well as movies, Wanda has many times made allies with the villains like Ultron and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. This has bought her own mortality into question. Also, Wanda has many a time did terrible things with her powers. Like she has depowered many mutants and has even transformed the mutants into human beings.
Thor’s father Odin had spelled Thor’s hammer Mjolnir-a magic spell
What many of us forget is that the Mjolnir had a spell of Thor’s father Odin that needed to have certain worthiness in the person wielding it. Odin has even shown that he has the power to unspell the power that will let even “unworthy” people lift Thor’s hammer. It means that one doesn’t need to be worthy in order to lift Thor’s hammer. If one can negate the spell that has made this hammer check the worthiness of the person lifting then it will be any other hammer. So, the question pops up Is Wanda’s “Chaos Magic” greater than the magic of Asgardian?
If we look at the origins of Wanda’s magic, we will realize that it is possible. His abilities were granted and gifted to her by the Elder God Chthon. In the Marvel Universe, Chthon came before the Asgardians and the Olympians. This suggests that his magic is more powerful than Odin’s spell. Therefore, if Wanda wants to lift Thor’s hammer Mjolnir. She could easily use Chaos Magic and thus override Odin’s spell on the hammer.
