Let us see how the recent incidents in the MCU have been laying the foundation of the Hawkeye Avengers team.
The amount of consideration that the MCU pays to the minute details is not a mystery anymore. We have witnessed the very brilliant and small detailing in MCU projects from time to time and now Marvel is repeating this feat once again. The most recent MCU projects, “WandaVision” and “The Falcon & The Winter Soldier” have laid out several subtle hints pointing to the alignment of the storyline to a more comic accurate path.
The very debut of the White Vision and the US Agent into the story leads us to believe that the MCU is planning to make way for Hawkeye’s very own Avengers team very soon. Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, has always been an under-appreciated character in the MCU. Hawkeye is supposed to be Earth’s greatest archer and marksman, however, many fans believe that the live-action version of Hawkeye has not been used up to his full potential but that’s about to change.
The Debut Of White Vision And US Agent
Both of the popular series, WandaVision and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier shared a similarity between them during their run. The climax of both the series introduced two characters from the comics who may end up having a major role in the future of the MCU. In WandaVision, director Hayward of S.W.O.R.D. attempted to get the Vision up and running again. He even managed to accomplished this seemingly impossible task using the remains of the Vision’s corpse and Wanda’s chaos magic.
However, during his battle with the Vision of WestView, he got his memories restored and came to his senses. On the other hand, during the climax episode of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, after getting the title of Captain America stripped from himself, John Walker, played by Wyatt Russel, is approached by a mysterious woman called Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who offered Walker the title of US Agent. This is how two of the Marvel comics characters came to be in the MCU and these two characters may be the first individuals to join Hawkeye’s Avengers team.
Hawkeye Avengers Team
In the comics, White Vision and US Agent both are members of the West Coast Avengers team. The West Coast Avengers was a superhero team in the comics consisting of US Agent, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, Tigra, Hank Pym, White Vision, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch, led by Hawkeye himself. Since both of the characters have been introduced in the very first Disney+ series, it can be expected that Marvel Studios is planning to introduce the West Coast Avengers lead by Hawkeye, since he too has a Disney+ series coming out later this year.
It is also highly unlikely that we will get to see all of the members of the West Coast Avengers team from the comics in the live-action version of the team. Marvel may be planning to replace a few of the team members with heroes who are making their MCU debuts in the follow-up projects like Moon Knight and She-Hulk. With most of the classic Avengers gone, Hawkeye has a greater responsibility to play in the MCU, and bringing together the West Coast Avengers is a good direction for him to head in, in order to fulfill his responsibility.
