The whole world remembers Batman’s birthday but no one remembers it like Joker. Joker’s evil and twisted gifts are the best ones.
In a large size issue of Detective Comics, legendary writer Matt Fraction has given the relationship of Batman and Joker that no one can even think about. Ostensibly Joker takes a day out of his month to plan some spooky and twisted gifts for Batman’s birthday, we have witnessed some really ugly, twisted, and random gifts but this time joker has planned the darkest gift of all time.
The ritual of giving gifts started when Batman encountered Joker for the second time since then One day a month, every month, for their entire relationship, Joker gives Batman a gift. This time Joker has taken a break from all his evil activities just to prepare special something different for Batman’s birthday. Batman has noticed that Joker sends him gifts every month but not on his actual birthdate but that not the thing, the thing is every time you have expected something cruel, ugly, and dark activity as Joker’s gift like last time joker left the teen titans underwater. As it is shown in the large size issue of Detective Comics.
What can be Joker’s gift this time according to the large size issue of Detective Comics?
In the short story from Fraction with art by Chip Zdarsky found in large size issue of Detective Comics, Detective Comics #1027 there was a strange thing that joker didn’t gift anything that month, which made Batman worried at the last day of that month the thought Joker is planning something bigger than ever. He searched all over the city, calling every informant and every favor he had, even convincing the mayor to evacuate the city, still worried that it wouldn’t be enough. But at the last hour of the month Joker came to him by himself and Batman desperately asked joker about his gift, things went the same as Joker has planned them.
Kind of gift Batman received that night in large size issue of Detective Comics just blown his mind, the gift that might be Joker by himself, he injected the knowledge in Batman’s that they are going to play this game forever. At that moment joker had taken the steering wheel of Batman’s mind, he completely got in his head, absolutely driving Batman crazy with paranoia and fear, which was exactly the “gift” Joker wanted to give the man he sees as his other half, showing him how connected they are and will continue to be until one of them dies.
This is the wildest concept we have ever witnessed in any issue from large size issue of Detective Comics, Fraction created a whole new chapter in this legendary rivalry. This story completely different from other stories everytime Batman thinks he can take over the joker’s gift but here the situation has changed Joker is the one how has to control in his hands.
