Arrow season 9 may not happen but The CW network has a plan to bring back the green Arrow.
The Arrow is one of the best and the most favourite superheroes from the DC universe. Fans can never have enough of action and drama from the widely popular Arrowverse. It was quite bitter news for all when the officials confirmed season 8 to the last season for Oliver Queen. Arrow Season 9 was one of the most anticipated series by fans but it’s pretty clear that it is not happening.
It was made clear that there could be no Arrow Season 9 as Oliver Queen dies in the 2019-2020 Arrowverse crossover, ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’. With the spice and talks of the excitement of alternate Earths, it was thought possible to bring back our beloved hero. Their friends try to resurrect him from the Lazarus Pit of an alternative Earth. Then to add to the drama and action Jim Corrigan with the consent of Oliver interrupts this act turning the green arrow into Spectre.
A specter from DC comics same as the comic scripts fights the seven Paragons and confronts Anti-Monitor. At the end of this face-off, Oliver dies as Spectre. Stephen was under a contract of 7 seasons and it was made clear that there will be only one more season and that would be the end for the green arrow. Though Oliver died before the conclusion of the season, the character may appear in the series finale. The funeral of the hood hero also included the return of some old faces like Felicity.
How will the Arrow return?
Oliver Queen is dead and it was made quite clear early on. Then how is the arrow expected to return? The exciting news is that a Green Arrow spin-off is in development. Arrow may be over but the thrill continues. The new series includes Black Siren and Black Canaries alongside arrow. The spinoff most obviously is called Green Arrow and the Canaries. This series is clearly the future of the arrowverse and there is a lot of excitement regarding the new storyline. Seasons 8 and 9 have been made with some backdoors leading to the development of this new series.
The three key characters include two very familiar faces who have appeared for many seasons in the original series. Black Siren played by Katie Cassidy and Black Canary played by Juliana Harkavy will be the old stars in this new show. A lot of action and drama is being anticipated. There can be a lot of links and flashbacks to connect stories.
There can be a small chance that we might get to see Oliver again. Stephen Amell is all up for it but there has been no news confirming that as of yet. The other important members of the bunker may also star in the new series. It includes John Diggle (David Ramsay), Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), and Curtis (Echo Kellum). Does the news script see the old team assemble or will it just be the canaries? That is a mystery we will have to wait and find out.
The Green Arrow has always connected with people more than any other characters ever. That is because he feels like one of us. He is human, makes mistakes. He is a hard trained Vigilante with nothing but efforts and training and will power, which makes him a real superhero. It’s a shame not to have him return, but we never know what surprises await us.
