Is Rescheduling Dune By Denis Villeneuve A Massive Wig Out?

Dune is an ambitious project by Denis Villeneuve. Dune is one of the most-awaited and anticipated films of the year. Almost all the filming has been done. It has taken place in Norway and Jordan. Now the director of the film is heading towards Hungary for the additional shooting. He is readying to shoot the following footage in Europe in August this year. Things are delayed due to the world wide lockdown. Now they seem back on track. Denis Villeneuve is ready for the same.

Though, much of the work is already complete. But like many other big films, Dune by Denis Villeneuve, is going to have additional footage to capture extra needed material. It is confirmed that the reshooting will begin in August.

Refilming Will Happen in August

Oscar Isaac has confirmed the news with Deadline, “The team is planning to head back to Budapest, Hungary, where the movie will be shot in 2019 at Origo Film Studios. Filming has also taken part in Jordan and Norway, and initially wrapped back in July last year.” He also said,

“We’re going to do some additional shooting in mid-August …they’re saying in Budapest in Hungary”.

Oscar has called Denis Villeneuve ” a real artist”. Because Hungary is allowing for the filming after the current CoronaVirus crisis.

Refilming is scheduled, not because what is filmed already is terrible. The director wants it in a more perfect and subtle way. It is not a freakout while doing this, because everything is right, on point. But the production needs it to be the best. Because fans are attaching their ongoing expectations with Dune.

According to Deadline, at least this is not going to push the original release date of the adaptation. Though, the release date could be delayed because of some other reason but reshooting would not affect the date. It is still fixed in December. Cast and Crew members will be taking extra possible safety measures while shooting.

Reshooting Dune is as simple as reshooting any other massive project. For bigger projects, it is common to strengthen the material and restructure the film, the scenes that will make it to the theatres. This seems the same as missing something and adding to the film because the film is a highly anticipated one.
