Russian Doll’s creator, Leslye Headland is working on the newest female-centric Star Wars TV show for Disney Plus.
The new Star Wars movies will be produced by Lucasfilm again, but it will not get launched until December 2020. Meanwhile, the studio is giving an opportunity to the makers to run a live-action TV show under Disney Plus.
The Mandalorian is one of the Star Wars shows (makers are working on the third season) that ranks at the top and the others are Cassian Andor, a spin-off of Rogue One and Obi-Wan. Both shows have faced problems already. The Rogue One prequel has nearly been cancelled and Obi-Wan has been rewritten. The Mandalorian is set to launch in October 2020.
The Star Wars TV Show with Different Timeline:
While speaking to the Variety, Lesley Headland has revealed a few details about the TV show. She is writing the script. She said the show will be set “in a different part of the Star Wars timeline than other projects”. Not many details have been disclosed.
It will be a 5th confirmed Star Wars show under Disney Plus. And the new Star Wars TV show will be a treat to the long run Franchise.
The plot will Unravel the Unknown Territories Unlike The Rise of Skywalker.
In February, Lucas film has revealed the launch of High Republic books, though it has been confirmed that High Republic Books will not overlap with the development of the Star Wars TV show.
It has been cleared by Headland that the plot will not be set in the High Republic era, in fact, it will reveal more uncharted territories in the galaxy of Star Wars. Books of Star Wars look towards the past whereas the TV show will be set in the future, decades after The Rise of Skywalker. It will be interesting to see if Lucasfilm will be able to take the audience out of the realms of “The Rise of Skywalker”.
It is expected that the live-action TV show works out steadily.
