‘The Witcher’ is the trending Netflix series that premiered back in 2019. The series stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chlotra, and Freya Allan. It’s a high fantasy Drama based on a book series and video game. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, The Witcher tells the wild tales of Geralt of Rivia, the eponymous witcher played by “Witcher” enthusiast Henry Cavill, who travels from town to town accepting missions in exchange for “coin.” Usually, his quests are focused on killing a monster. Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired landmass known as “the continent”, the series explores the legend of Geralt and princess Ciri, who are linked by destiny to each other.
The series is a combination of terribleness, hilarity, amazing fight scenes, and a song that keeps revolving in the brain. As the story continues, viewers get to learn about how the story isn’t based on Cavill rather he’s just a mode to get to know about other fascinating characters. “Witcher” is not politically intriguing or emotionally deep. There are no bigger implications to its story. It’s a trio of conflicting timelines and dialogue stuffed with fantasy lingo. “The Witcher” is about incest, a king’s curse, and the creation of a monster. Geralt goes from walking into an inn to tracking a beast in a creepy castle.
Subsequent The Witcher Season 3
Most probably it seems like The Witcher Season 3 for The Witcher would hit the Netflix screen. It seems that Henry Cavill and his co-stars will return to play Geralt and co. Redanian Intelligence spotted that The Witcher page on the Writer’s Guild of America West directories now has a reference to ‘season 3’ with showrunner and creator Lauren S. Hissrich. There seems to be a green light showing that The Witcher season 3 is going to be greenlit – and an official announcement could be forthcoming.
Maybe the releasing date could come in 2022 or even later. Netflix is also working on The Witcher: Blood Origin, a six-part spin-off prequel series set 1,200 years before Geralt walked the lands of the Northern Kingdoms, and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an anime feature film that will be centered around Geralt’s close friend and mentor, Vesemir.
