The spark of the Pirates of the Caribbean series should make a return in the upcoming Pirates Of Caribbean 6.
Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow has been the life of the Pirates of the Caribbean series since the beginning. The first-ever movie in the series, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl” came out in 2003 and was an instant success. The unorthodox and amusing work of Johnny Depp successfully managed to attract an audience along with the critics with a heavy majority. The franchise released one great movie after another and secured a lot of appreciation and fame.
Unfortunately, everything went to ruins due to the lead actor’s legal issues. His career as an actor almost got ruined because of his legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard, where both sides accused each other of domestic violence. As a result of this controversy, Depp’s participation in a lot of great movie franchises like “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Fantastic Beast” was put to an end. Fans greatly criticized these actions and demanded that they should be stopped. Fans even launched a legal petition for his return and it got half a million signatures. Therefore, Disney should consider honoring this request and bring him back for the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean 6”.
The So- Called Reboot
Disney has announced that the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean 6” will be more of a reboot rather than a sequel. The movie will feature Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie and will have no ties to the past movies. However, ending the previous just like that without any closure would be utterly stupid and so Disney should hire him again and there are a number of ways in which they could integrate Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow in the new storyline.
In case they don’t feel comfortable with having Depp around much, they could think about killing off his character in a classic anti-heroic way so that the fans can feel satisfied with his end. Considering how his character has been a greedy pirate but has always done the right thing as per the demand of the situation, Depp scarifying himself to save his fellow pirates would be a pretty cool way for his story to end. A similar instance was seen in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” where Geoffrey Rush’s Hector Barbosa returned as a father figure to one of the new leads.
On the contrary, if the makers have no issues with Depp’s participation, they could bring him back to mentor the new star pirate, lead her crew and make a name for herself. With the help of Depp’s Jack Sparrow, Margot Robbie could be the next best thing of the franchise. Although Captain Sparrow has never shown signs of evil intent he could also come back as a villain for the movie but it’s the least possible option. Whichever way it happens, it won’t matter as long as it is guaranteed that we will get to witness the original Captain Jack Sparrow with all his charm once again.
