Jensen Ackles from The Boys has shared one thing that Soldier Boy that is his character has footwear in common with his iconic Supernatural role.
Jensen Ackles told the Entertainment Weekly, “I somehow managed to end with the same kind of boots for Soldier Boy that I wore as Dean Winchester.”
“Different color but the same boot.” For Ackles, the footwear was a crucial portion of portraying Dean Winchester, so when he sighted an identical set during his clothing fitting for The Boys, he knew at that moment that those were the boots for him.
Jensen Ackles Connection With Boots of Soldier Boy
Jensen Ackles went on to elaborate their connection to his last moments on the sets of Supernatural. He said, “There was a moment in my trailer when I took off my boots for the last time, and I’ve spent so much time in them that I’ve worn four pairs out. And I kept this last pair, but I looked at them. I took them off, and I looked at them. They were sitting next to a wardrobe box that was getting packed up with some of my items and stuff inside my trailer, and I just took a picture of it. You know, I was just like—it’s literally like hanging up the boots.”
He might be stepping out of Dean Winchester’s boots now, but the role of Soldier Boy remains very important to the actor. The long-running series, Supernatural aired its finale last week.
Ackles joined the cast of The Boys that is executive produced by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
