JOE GOLDBERG -THE SADISTIC KILLER

JOE GOLDBERG -THE SADISTIC KILLER, “The universe has a funny way of keeping us humble. That beating was karmic. I know it. I did a bad thing today but for a good reason, and if there is any justice in the world, you are the reward for all my suffering.” These words from Joe Goldberg have a much deeper sense and weight of feelings. He is not the Romeo you want who would kill himself in the name of love, he would rather kill anyone in the way of love. Be it the love itself?

The Netflix series– YOU has made a place for the fans to be the psychological-thriller of the year! Penn Badgley has proven to idealize the character of Joe, a psychotic, obsessive and impulsive human. He might seem a normal person you may have run into a book shop, but he isn’t.

Spoilers ahead!

NEVER BETRAY HIM!

JOE GOLDBERG -THE SADISTIC KILLER love for Beck YOU Netflix Series Entertainment

His love for Beck, a struggling writer, was no less than a protective one. In the name of love, he wanted everything for her. A tragic childhood that made him kill his father was enough to destroy the hidden future. The obsessive stalker might run into you on any day and in case, the love of his life is captured red handed, the repercussions would be the worst.

Apart from the sadistic nature, he wants to help people like him. He helped Paco in getting rid of the only problem of his life. That, for sure, was a good intention, but implemented in the way you would never think of! Goldberg not only protected Paco, he helped Beck in a similar way by killing her ex-boyfriend who did not treat her well. He believes that such people deserve Karma. However, if really Karma would be in the hands of us, shouldn’t we all be dead?

His worst ways and actions of dealing with situations were all concluded by his theory of self-satisfaction- “There are terrifying people in the world. It’s important to be safe and that’s why I have to do what I’m going to do”. But sometimes the trap you set might come back to you as your Karma. Beck being caged felt helpless with the toxic love of Joe. The way Beck felt during that time was felt by Joe later in the show. Love, a girl he meets after Beck dies was thought to be another victim of his obsession. Unfortunately, Joe got what he always wanted. And the worst part is, he didn’t like it!

THE LOVE OF LOVE

Love, who seemed to be the simplest girl, wasn’t so simple. She was as complexed as Joe and believed in the same theories of ‘love’ as his. She didn’t leave any chances to not let Joe go away from her which we come to know in the end of season 2.
