Lately, actress Kaley Cuoco explains why her character Penny was an instant hit for the show.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ is a comedy series created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady following the weird experiences of four science geniuses who eventually turn out to be the best friends. The show starred Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, and Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali. However, the most popular sitcom wrapped up after its twelve seasons with an emotional special finale. Recently, Kaley Cuoco who portrayed Penny in the show shared why her character was integral to the sitcom. Let’s find out what made Penny’s character so important to the show.
The 34-year-old Kaley played the character of Penny for 12 years, who has been a waitress to pharmaceutical rep. as well as a love interest of her neighbor Leonard Hofstadter aka Johnny Galecki. That’s not it! She played the only main female character in the show in its first three years.
Now that the show has ended. Kaley has made some reflection on her fictional character Penny. Kaley Cuoco told Emmy Magazines that “she represented the audience. She has big aspirations and loved the guys. Viewers were on her side from day one because she was always kind. She laughed with them, not at them. She was always part of the group.”
The Transformation:
Viewers of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ has seen quite a transformation of Penny’s character over the years. Penny is the voice of the audience and a fan favorite. At the start, Penny was bubbly, naïve, and open to learning new things from her friends over in the apartment. She was kind to the boys. Penny was mostly patient with Sheldon. She helped Raj to gain the confidence to have a conversation with a woman. A genuine love for Leonard. And if we add all of this together, we can’t deny the facts why Penny became one of the most beloved characters of The Big Bang Theory.
