The Big Bang Theory Kaley Cuoco who portrays the character of Penny in the popular sitcom recently revealed her ex co-star Kunal Nayyar’s audition story and how he earned the place in the sitcom. During a podcast interview with ‘Anna Farris Is Unqualified’, Kaley shares an amazing story behind Kunal’s audition and her first interaction with the actor.
The Story Behind Kunal Nayyar’s Audition:
Kunal Nayyar is known for the portraying the character of Rajesh Koothrappali in the massively popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory. He played a pivotal role in the series since the very first season. The 34-year-old actress shared her first interaction with Kunal. She said he never tried out for a part before he got a place on one of the biggest shows.
When host Anna revealed about her first-ever audition for a scary movie, which basically helped to kickstart her career. She said “You know Kunal Nayyar from Big Bang Theory. I believe that was his first audition or first pilot audition. I remember talking to him, going: Don’t get used to that. That doesn’t happen! I couldn’t believe that. That was very similar to what you said, that’s amazing.”
And since then Kunal has become a household name and one of the top-earning stars on TV. However, the series has ended after 12 seasons but Kunal was disappointed with the ending of Raj Koothrappali’s story.
Why Kunal Nayyar wasn’t happy with the ending of Raj Koothrappali:
During an interview with Metro UK, Kunal opened up that he was not really happy with the show ending and especially the ending of his character Raj. Raj is one of the characters who always believed in true love but he failed to find it by the end of the series. Kunal said the ending was quite beautiful and did not follow the generic sitcom formula that many fans expected. However, it wasn’t the find ending for Raj.
