Honoured AMC/BBC show, Killing Eve, is returning for a 4th Instalment and it is likely to be the last season. It was first created by the Famous Fleabag creator, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, in 2018 and stars Emmy award-winning actress Jodie Cameras the quirky but sophisticated assassin Villanelle, and Golden Globe-winning actress SandraOh (well known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy), as MI-6 agent Eve Polastri who is constantly on her way to get Villanelle. With Killing Eve Season 4 on its way, here’s everything we know about it.
Release Date:
Although no official release date has been announced yet, the news is that the finale season is likely to air in 2022. The production process is all set to begin in early summer and the filming will take place in parts of the United Kingdom and Europe. It must be noted that the last three season s of Killing Eve started their filming in April but it seems like that might not be the plan for Killing Eve Season 4.
Cast:
Not much is known about the whole cast in regards to who is returning for the Killing Eve season 4 but what we do know is that our trusty leads, Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, are definitely returning for the finale season. Season 3 saw the duo part ways, so we are excited to see what direction their relationship goes in the finale season. regardless to say Killing Eve is incomplete without this dynamic duo.
Oh said in a statement, “Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve’s remarkable mind soon,” Oh said in a statement. “I’m so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season.” While talking about the show, Comer has also stated, “Killing Eve has been the most extraordinary journey and one that I will be forever grateful for,” Comer also said. “Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported us throughout and come along for the ride. Although all good things come to an end, it’s not over yet. We aim to make this one remember!”
Is there any possibility of a Spin-off?
Sid Gentle Films Ltd.(which produces Killing Eve) and AMC Network announced when the show’s finale season was confirmed that they are working on a number of ideas for a spin-off to extend the Killing Eve universe. AMC’s president, Dan McDermott, said in a statement, “We look forward to what is sure to be an unforgettable final season and to exploring potential extensions of this compelling universe.”
Killing Eve got renewed before Season 3 came out
Killing Eve Season 4 was announced months before the 3rd instalment even came out in 2020. The president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studio, Sarah Barnett, in a statement about the early renewal said, “How could we not have massive confidence in Killing Eve? It has won big in every major award show and is the highest growing show on U.S. television for six years.”
Sally Woodward Gentle, the Executive Producer, shared her excitement saying, “I am beyond thrilled that we can continue our extraordinary journey. It is a testament to everyone involved that we have been picked up so early—the magnificent actors, writers, directors, and production team. We are extremely lucky to work with such fierce and dedicated people.”
What will happen in Killing Eve Season 4?
The finale scene of the 3rd Season showed Villanelle and Eve have a heart-to-heart conversation and what ensues after is not known. However, in a recent interview with Comer, she asked the fans not to expect a “happy ending”, she further said, “I’m not sure I see a truly happy ending for Villanelle because I think her own worst enemy is herself and we all know that’s impossible to get away from.”
It will also be interesting to see Villanelle’s carries path as she no longer wants to be an assassin and Carolyn has also turned down her request of becoming a double agent for M16. As far as Carolyn is concerned fans are excited to know whether she will face consequences about her impromptu murder or not. Another intriguing thing will be finding out about what happens to Konstantin. Based on how this drama has developed from the first season, we are pretty sure that the final season will definitely live up
