It is long since Avatar by James Cameron is released. It has become one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Later in the years, Cameron changed the world of Avatar and adopted new filming techniques for the film to bring it back with the Avatar sequel. In those years of development and growth, there is still much unknown in the realm of sequels.
Now Jon Landau, the producer, has recently opened up about the sequels in an interview. He has disclosed certain details about the sequel that is to come in 2021.
In an interview, Landau has said, “this is the story of the Sully family and what one does to keep their family together.” He has added, “Jake and Neytiri have a family in this movie, they are forced to leave their home, they go out and explore the different regions of Pandora, including spending quite a bit of time on the water, around the water, in the water. I think, why do people turn to entertainment today, more so than ever? I think it’s to escape, to escape the world we’re in, to escape the other pressures they have in their lives.”
Sequel, A Blend Of Old And Fresh Cast
The 2021 sequel will be focusing on the family and children of Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri and Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully. Jamie Flatters, Britain Dalton and Trinity Bliss will be playing the roles in the film. They might vacate their home and investigate the other nations of Pandora. It is an important understanding of the plot of the sequel. Cameron has recently corroborated that the water ecosystems of Pandora will be having a major emphasis in the films,
Landau embellished their expectations with the Avatar franchise. “I think with Avatar, we have an opportunity to allow people to escape to an incredible world with incredible characters that they will follow, in much the same way as Peter Jackson was able to do with Lord of the Rings, so that’s what we’re looking forward to doing.”
The production of the sequels of the Avatar was shut down because of the worldwide pandemic COVID19. But it would be resuming soon.
The sequel to Avatar will be seeing the return of major cast members from the 2009 original. The cast includes Giovanni Ribisi, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, and Matt Gerald. It will also have a fresh cast that includes Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones.
