Logan is a famous Youtuber and has a lot of audiences connected to his channel. He recently hosted a live stream where he opened Pokémon TCG cards from 1999. Though Pokémon TCG seems like an outdated concept, it is not! There are still millions of collectors around the globe who are very much dedicated into this kind of trading game. The cards have values in hundreds and millions and the collectors participate in auctions and on online web portals.
This isn’t the first time Logan Pauls has spent a huge amount of money on these Pokémon TCG cards. This live stream had dragged a lot of netizens and his vlogs and unboxing of these cards have gained a lot of popularity. He has over 22.8 million subscribers which is enough to justify how popular Pokémon still is.
Paul opened 36 mint condition rare cards and 12 extremely rare holographic edition cards. The estimated value of these cards is around $2 million. He opened the booster pack and 36 first edition packs of Pokémon TCG cards from 1999. Previously the individual packs were auctioned for $39206. The booster packs alone can cost around half a million dollars. He found two first edition holofoil Charizards along with Venusaur, Mewto, Raichu, Blastoise and many others.
Paul has teamed up with Goldin auction to get his cards online on sale, the expected value of his cards from the stream is around two million. He is not the only celebrity involved in this; the rapper Logic spent $220,000 on a first edition Charizard last year. This was the highest price until a few months later another copy of the same card was sold on eBay for $270,000.
Considering the popularity and the occasion of Pokémon and their 25th anniversary, McDonalds teamed up to give away a special card with every happy meal. This just ended up crazy with collectors buying whole lots of these meals for the cards. Pokémon TCG cards is still a craze among a lot of people.
This year is going great for the franchise as new games Pokémon Brilliant diamond and Shining pearl are going to come out soon. Another game Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set to come in 2022 which is going to take a dive in the past but will be in the same region as Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
