Jurassic World: Dominion 2021 will feel like a homecoming week for the franchise. Since a lot of familiar faces are coming back from the earlier five movies it will give a feeling of homecoming. However, we might not see all of them but few. So, we need to cancel out few names from the list as New Girl’s Jake Johnson is not very sure if he will get a chance to take part in the prequel.
In February this year, it was revealed that Jake Johnson was ready to bring back Lower Crothers in the next dinosaur packed play. He was a control room employee. In a recent interview, Johnson talked about Hoops (Netflix series). He said that the ongoing health crisis has pulled down and stopped all the production and other works in the Jurassic World 3.
The Jake Johnson revealed:
“I was getting ready to go out and then this pandemic hit and so everything got pushed and the schedule got rearranged, and now we’re trying to figure it out because obviously I’m in Stumptown and we’re going into Season 2 of that. So, we’re figuring out the scheduling and how and if we can make it work. But Colin Trevorrow, the director, is a good friend, we’re old friends and we’ve been talking a lot and we’re trying to figure out how to do it.”
The photography part for Jurassic World: Dominion began in late February. However, due to the spread of coronavirus, all the work had to stop as cast and crew were sent back for safety reasons. The pandemic has affected every film production and not just the Jurassic franchise. In early July, the camera and production work began at a slower pace. However, necessary, and essential precautions were being taken care of from sanitizing the set and the area number of times to wearing masks and using sanitizers, everything was being taken care of. Also, around ten thousand COVID tests were conducted to doubly sure.
Plans Were Halted
If the coronavirus wasn’t there and if all the production work for Jurassic World: Dominion was carried out as planned then there wouldn’t be an issue with Johnson to play Lowery Cruthers. Now, with all the delays, Johnson’s shooting schedule for his ABC series Stumptown is colliding with his rescheduled Jurassic World: Dominion. He is playing Grey McDonnell in Stumptown and is cast along with Cobie Smulders. However, Colin Trevorrow and Johnson can still sit back and find a way around it. Since Dominion will be a big finale and a lot many people look forward to it and will obviously watch the final Jurassic movie. So, Lowery might rethink and plan to at least make an appearance.
In an interview, Jake Johnson talked about his role as Lowery Crothers should look like (if it happens so) in Jurassic World: Dominion.
“At one point I pitched that he has like a huge ponytail now and he’s got like an army jacket and he’s kind of going through some PTSD of what he lived through. I wanted the 70s glasses and he’s always smoking a cigarette, but luckily Colin said no so we’ll see what happens (laughs). I was like, ‘Man I think he should be tatted up from the ankles to the ears, he saw a dinosaur attack!’. “
