The actor has announced his plans for a TV project.
Downey Executive has produced the series for HBO. The series has got a great response and because of good commercial and critical success, HBO has given it a second season last month. That is to say, that the series would be having another season. Now, this is something great for Robert Downey Jr’s fans.
Now, Variety has reported that Apple has given straight to series order to the new drama. The drama is from Downey and wife Susan Downey’s Team Downey Production Company. It follows along with Adam Perlman.
What will the series be about?
The untitled series will be based on a poet Michael Lista and his Toronto Life article “The Sting”. It follows a frustrated detective from Canada who has taken decades-old cold cases. This happens in hopes of winning and becoming a hero.
Then things spiral out of control when the undercover cop tries an elaborate sting and adds playacting cops. This will also follow an unexpected friendship with a unique target.
Variety has also added that Downey will be playing a supporting role in the new TV series. It will be written by Perlman.
Downey is now ready to produce the forthcoming Netflix drama Sweet Tooth. It casts Dania Ramirez from Once Upon a Time.
Sweet Tooth will be based on DC Vertigo Comic holding the same name. It will follow the adventures of a deer, part boy hybrid child whose name is Gus. He leaves his home in the forest to find the world that is rocked by the horrific event.
