Is Ryan Reynolds’ busy schedule causing tension between him and the Marvel studios?
Ryan Reynolds portrays the iconic character Deadpool on the big screen. With his incredible performance and amazing charm, the cinematic version of Deadpool became a legend, and fans were blown to bits by his performance as Deadpool. Deadpool received so much love and appreciation from fans that the development of the sequel started early. Deadpool’s growing popularity led to Disney buying his right back from the 21st-century fox and now Deadpool officially became a part of the MCU.
The challenge that aroused because of it was to work on a story and plot to integrate the X- Man and Deadpool into the current MCU storyline and that’s where Deadpool 3 came in. It was reported that Deadpool 3 is in the works at Marvel Studios with the same cast as the previous movies. However, things aren’t exactly going as planned.
Tension Between Marvel Studios And Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds is a big star and therefore is involved in a lot of upcoming projects and might be a bit of a problem for the studios. Marvel Studios is one of the biggest movie franchises in history and to work with them can truly change an actor’s career as seen in numerous cases including Robert Downey Jr. Anyone who joins up with the MCU portrays their character in numerous projects including cameos and hence the actor is expected to totally available, always ready to take up their role if and when the studios require, sadly, since Ryan Reynolds is pre-occupied with his busy schedule, problems have been rising between him and the studios.
Ryan Reynolds has three movies coming out this year – The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, Red Notice, and Free Guy and that tell you all about how much busy he is and this has got Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, worried that his character may not be used to its full potential in the MCU. According to a new rumor shared by tipster Daniel Richtman, Feige is “worried” that Reynolds’ continually hectic workload will mean that he won’t be able to show up as much in the MCU as the producer would like. He’s said to want the Canadian star “to be fully available” to appear whenever he’s required and though the tipster stops there, this reported clash of interests does support what Feige himself has previously stated.
Kevin Feige had previously stated that the production of Deadpool 3 is on hold because of Ryan’s busy schedule and because of that the earliest that it can begin production is next year, causing a delay in its release as a result. Ryan Reynolds was supposed to be the next RDJ of the MCU as both the actors are famous for their amusing way of speaking and he and Deadpool are one and the same for fans, therefore a conflict is a lose-lose situation for everyone. The studios would want to keep the actor but may be forced to replace him if he is not available.
Although the actor has openly admitted how much he admires playing the character and what it means to him his career outside the superhero genre is also huge so he cannot abandon it too. There was also news about Ryan being mad at Disney for censoring his ideas for Deadpool 3, something that never happened at Fox. Let’s hope everything turns out ok and we continue to watch our favorite merc with a mouth on the big screen.
