Comic-con 2020, Marvel’s line of Star Comics has not got over with the Skywalker Saga movie. It’s still busy exploring that period. During the Comic-Con@Home Lucasfilm Publishing panel, it was revealed that Raffaele Ienco (artist) and Greg Pak (writer) will link The Rise of Skywalker and the iconic villain.
The series’ first arc shows Vader hunting those who knew anything about his children’s birth and anyone who helped Luke to hideaway. On his personal hunt, he met Sabe on the way. He was one among the Padme Amidala’s former handmaidens.
Greg Pak during a Comic-Con@Home Lucasfilm Publishing panel
Comic-con 2020, “At the end of our first arc, Vader claims to have settled all his previous business, but the Emperor knows better. He knows Vader hasn’t settled anything! Vader is going to suffer a terrible punishment and undertake a new journey-slash-quest, and there are key elements that will tie into Episode IX in a huge way,” Greg Pak said. He added, “There are some doors that have been thrown wide open, which dig into some great unexplored territory and dig deep into the heart of Vader. Once again, I can’t believe they’re letting us do it.”
Darth Vader #6 and The Rise of Skywalker
Darth Vader #6 will have the Emperor penalizing Vader. He will send him away on a pursuit. So, basically, this new turn will be linked to The Rise of Skywalker.
We can expect a lot more things happening like meeting with the Eye of Webbish Bog. It’s a brand-new character that was slightly shown in the opening scene. We could even see Kylo Ren cutting down Vader’s devotees to get the Sith Wayfinder. So, truly speaking, the possibilities are many.
Will Vader bring back the love of his life?
Other stories might include Vader seeking clone technology or him meeting the looser Palpatine clone that at a later stage is Rey’s father. The big exciting to think of is that if Vader manages to learn the cloning technology. He might try bringing his love, Padme back into his life.
Pak while talking with IGN, spoke a little about the crossover arc. He said, “It’s going to be a huge, hopefully deeply disturbing and entertaining and satisfying epic by the time it’s all done. We got permission and the green light to do some stuff I never thought we’d be able to do.”
