The Big Bang Theory Star Mayim Bialik, who played the role of Sheldon Cooper’s other half in the famous sitcom disclosed that she badly wants to land a role in a superhero movie after she missed out on the opportunity of playing a teacher in an unrevealed Spider-man movie. She did not mention any specific Spider-man movie that she tried out for. Although she has tried very hard to land a role in an MCU or DC extended universe series over the years, her attempts have been unsuccessful, to say the least.
She told Insider that she has always been a huge DC and Marvel fan and being a part of that world is something that she still hopes for. “I’d like to believe that one day it might happen, I’m past the young ingénue character, but I still think there might be a place for me. I’m a huge Marvel and DC person, but obviously, DC is my Warner Bros. family. I’m pretty partial to that.“
In 2019, Bialik’s company Sad Clown Productions signed a multi year deal with Warmer Bros and both Big Bang Theory and her current show Call Me Kat, are produced by Warner Bros TV. So it is pretty obvious for her to want to stay “in the family” and star in a DC movie. As both Marvel and DC extended universe are constantly expanding universes and as Bialikalready has a working relationship with the Warner Bros, it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary for her to land a role in a DC project soon.
Mayim Bialik has been working since she was a child and she became a household name after the famous comedy, The Big Bang theory. While her former co-stars Melissa Rauch and Kaley Cuoco, who played the roles of Bernadette Rostenkowski-WolowitzandPennyrespectively, got the opportunity to voice the animated versions of DC’s iconic Harley Quinn, Bialik figured that she would be better equipped to play the role of a goodie or maybe a baddie with comical inclination. She stated in her Insider interview, “I happen to be very athletic and many people have said ‘There’s a superhero in you’, so, you never know.”We hope that the opportunity presents itself to Bialik, soon.
