Loki has no doubt tranformed since phase One in MCU.
The MCU without a shadow of doubt has faced certain shortcomings when it comes to “villains”. However, they did launch some brilliant heroes in Phase I. Loki featuring as the main villain in The MCU held the ground which was much required. Turning out as the favorite among all other villains he became an iconic antagonist in Thor and Avenger movies.
His popularity enrolled him in a long journey where he kept returning with different mindsets altogether. At last, he was killed by Thanos in The Avengers: Infinity War. His performance is spellbinding and is forever engraved in the hearts of his fans and the franchise.
A Hardcore Villain
Loki as a villain proved himself as an intimidating one in the MCU. In The Avengers itself, he fostered the mindset of a real villain who could easily cross any limit for the sake of power. However, by the end of Phase 3, he had transformed from a daunting villain to a much laughable one. Obviously, with Thanos entry, he looked weaker.
A Ruler
With a conquest to gain power in his mind, he laid his eyes on Earth. He commanded an unbeatable army but his plan was shortsighted. He definitely learned from his actions. Still being overwhelmed by the desire of power he changed his ways. He used his skills of deceit, trickery, and pretense instead of force to fulfill his desires.
Full of Rage
Filled with rage, Loki could only hold this stance in The Thor. Discovering about he being a Frost Giant orphan and not the true son of Odin, he was committed to avenge himself.
Not being the jolly one he is also not red headed. Years of his journey has made him softer where he acts all clever, joking around. In Thor: Ragnarok his anger had much slipped off his character.
The Deceiver
Not being physically good, he always lost in a fight against his brother Thor. On the other hand, he could use all kinds of deception and cunningness to make people fall for his lies and frauds.
From faking his own death to manipulating the Avengers to seize him, he rose to the heights of his clever ways. However, his ways faded away and were easily foresighted even by Thor (who isn’t that intelligent).
An Assassin
At some point in time, his image was tainted as an assassin. He could murder anyone who got in his way. He plundered Earth, killed Coulson, tried to vanish his own kin, and even sent The Destroyer on Earth to murder his own brother Thor.
Self-Centered
Loki has transformed from the one who could plunder and be ruthless to a much softer and light person.
All the way, he has been perceived as a selfish character. He faked his own death to sit on the throne. In Thor: Ragnarok he was ready to do away with Thor. Consequently, his showdown is marked as a giving one. In Avengers: Infinity War he parts with the Tesseract to save Thor and dies in an attempt to kill Thanos.
Not being a villain
In Phase 1, though being soft and gentle sometimes he was undoubtedly the villain. However, the difference between good and bad started to fade away eventually. Showing up in Asgard to counter the bad times, he proved that he isn’t the bad guy that he has showed to be. The curtain of his villainous ways was lifted.
Learning to be a team player
Considering himself as the conqueror, he stood against the Avengers. He lost and learned how to be in a team and abide by it. He together with Thor stopped the Dark Elves. He was teamed in the “Revengers” to conquer Hels.
Son of Odin
As Odin’s adopted son, he wanted to prove himself to his father figure even after knowing the truth. When things did not fall in a place he was aggrieved and tried to take over the throne. In Thor: Ragnarok however, he improved his relationship. In his last time, he called himself as Odinson finally accepting his true family.
Relationship between the brothers
Loki taking over the throne of Asgard, banishing Thor, and sending The Destroyer on Earth to kill him are not obviously the terms of a cordial relationship with Thor. They had their set of ups and downs. However, eventually, the two brothers got along accepting that they both care and have each other’s back.
