Michael Keaton Returns, DC fans got shocking news earlier this summer, Michael Keaton is ready to reprise his role as Batman for the first time in 20 years. He will be reprising the role in the upcoming Flash movie. The last time we saw him as Batman was in 1992, in Batman Returns. It was one of the highly controversial entries in the Baan Safa. But now, it is out of a few that are highly acclaimed. Returns have also featured killer performances of Christopher Walken, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Danny DeVito.
DeVito is asked about his views on the return of Michael Keaton as Batman while speaking to ComicBook.com about his movie, The One and Only Ivan. The film will hit Disney Plus this Friday. Besides other things, the actor said he is excited about Keaton. He is happy and excited to see his old friend back in DCEU.
He said, “I think it’s great,” DeVito said. “I think it’s a great series and I think it’s a wonderful story and it’s a lot of fun and a lot of energy and I loved Oswald Cobblepot, and I love Tim Burton. We’ve done four or five movies together. I can’t wait for him to come up with the next one, whatever we’re gonna do together.”
Returns as the Collaboration between DeVito and Burton
DeVito has reminded us, Batman Returns began as a collaboration between him and Tim Burton, director. DeVito starred in Dumbo (2019), Burton’s last movie. It happened to feature Keaton as the villain. Also, it had reunited the Dark Knight and Penguin for the first time since 1992. The source didn’t ask the actor if he is up for working with Keaton again as Cobblepot.
Danny DeVito was the last actor to play Penguin on the big screens. He will soon be succeeded by Colin Farrell in The Batman. He has approved of this earlier.
Meanwhile, Keaton’s Batman is set to make his appearance in DCEU in the coming 2022.
