Apple to introduce new features in apple maps like real-time traffic reporting with the iOS 14.5 update.
Mind-Blowing features in Apple Maps, the new update will notify the user of the accidents, hazards, and speed traps that would intervene in the user’s path. This was announced and confirmed by the company on the 10th feb 2021. This feature is already available for users who are currently using iOS 14.5 beta, which is available for developers and civilian beta testers.
How Exactly Would This Feature Work:
This feature would function as users report accidents or hazards on the road that they find on their way, by using Siri or through apple Carplay. Without requiring any physical interaction drivers or passengers would only have to verbally tell Siri “there’s a crash up ahead”, “looks like there is a car crash”, or “there is a speed trap here”. A “Report” button will instantly pop up on the user’s screen and they can mark the location of the accident, hazard, or speed check.
Mind-Blowing features in Apple Maps, iPhone users received a similar update in 2019 when Google launched a similar feature for them, allowing them to report traffic incidents such as accidents, traffic, slowdowns on Google maps. In 2013 Google maps added incident report updates from the maps service “Waze” after acquiring the startup for $1 billion.
