Netflix’s drama Dead to Me has been officially renewed for season 3. Find out the details about Dead to Me season 3?
Season 2 of Netflix’s Dead to Me, released on May 8, was “finished by the skin of our teeth” in the days before the coronavirus pandemic, showrunner Liz Feldman said in a recent interview. On behalf of Dead to Me fans everywhere, thank you for crossing the finish line. After another twist-filled, wine-soaked season following the misadventures of unlikely friends Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini), there’s only one question left to ask: When can we expect Dead to Me season 3?
Ahead, everything we know about a new installment of the Emmy-nominated series and a breakdown of that shocking season 2 finale. Last year, season 2 proved to be incredibly popular, too. And the plot only thickened. Naturally, fans were eager to know when and if Dead to Me season 3 would come to be, especially after that season 2 cliffhanger. But no spoilers here! Eventually, we were delighted to learn that Dead to Me season 3 is definitely happening. As we previously reported, however, it will also be it’s last. Tragic.
While this remains sad news for its fans, Dead to Me is reportedly going to wrap up in a truly “satisfying way,” says the series creator Liz Feldman. In 2020, Feldman told Deadline that the series is “exactly the show” she wanted to make “from start to finish.” From there, she went on to reveal that the show’s ending came to her “pretty profoundly” while filming season 2. In turn, season 3 felt like “the right time” to see her creative vision through to its natural end.
Arrival of Dead to Me season 3 in 2021?
COVID-19 has proved its deadly effects not just on life but also on filming. The announcements are expected to be delayed. We’ll probably get the next season by the upcoming year. Let’s just hope for the best. Deadline reported the show will return for a third and final season; the renewal was announced as part of creator Feldman’s new production deal with Netflix. “From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift,” Feldman said in a statement, per the outlet.

“There’s an intimacy in female friendship and I would even dare say a romance to it because there’s a closeness that we can get with each other that is intimate and it’s emotional but it’s not romantic.” Said Feldman.
Then there’s Jen’s children Charlie (Sam McCarthy) and Henry (Luke Roessler), police detective Ana Perez (Diana-Maria Riva), Nick (Brandon Scott) –the cop that Judy used to date–Jen’s orange wine-loving neighbor Karen (Suzy Nakamura), Jen’s friend and former real estate partner Christopher (Max Jenkins), Jen’s mother-in-law Lorna (Valerie Mahaffey), Pastor Wayne (Keong Sim), the grief support leader, and Steve’s semi-identical twin brother Ben, played by James Marsden (more on him later).
