Due to the current situation of the world dealing with a Pandemic, there has been a rise in watching the party apps. The rise for streaming services has been for both the official and third party. Movies Anywhere work differently as it doesn’t let you watch the movies that you paid for. Rather it limits you from watching the movies to the streaming catalogs as per your subscription plans. One more unique feature that Movies Anywhere has is that the Watch Together feature is accessible on both desktop and mobile.
Movies Anywhere’s six-digit Code
Also, it’s very simple to set up. The party host sends a six-digit code which is an invite code. Guests can then use this code to see the movie in question in the app. There are video calls or chat features. However, you can send simple emoji reactions. An option to request the host to pause or rewind also exist in the app.
Screen Pass
There are certain conditions and limitations associated with the app. As anyone who wants to join the movie should either have the movie or should have the copy lent by using Company’s Screen Pass feature. A total of ten people can watch the movie at a time. Also, as one needs to have a copy of the movie to watch it in a group, one can lend out three copies of the movie that too the Screen Pass. This new feature is accessible at both Movies Anywhere apps and websites.
Despite having some major studios on board, Movies Anywhere still lacks much. As you wouldn’t see Lionsgate, MGM/UA, and Paramount with the platform. This means no Indiana Jones, Mission Impossible, Godfather, Kirk and Spock, James Bond, and Katniss Everdeen. Also, the independent movies are not supported either.
