Ms. Marvel Is Set To Join MCU
The writer of Ms. Marvel Comic book, Willow Wilson has revealed that she thinks Marvel (MCU) was just joking when they called her for creating Kamala Khan. She is nearly a new superhero for the comic giants. She made her debut in 2013 Captain Marvel Comics. Kamala is one of the most beloved characters in Marvel. She has become loved by many who recognized the importance of od American Muslim superhero. She has shared her connection with Carol Danvers while taking the name Ms. Marvel after Carol becomes Captain Marvel.
Knowing the popularity of Kamala Khan, it is not really surprising that Marvel and Disney + are building a TV series around her. It is one of the upcoming shows in MCU. The release date is set for 2021, though there are no announcements about the cast. Whoever actress will play the character would be having the perks in Marvel movies. After all this, Ms. Marvel is Disney’s most awaited series. Perhaps because of the portrayal of Kamala Khan in the MCU.
In MCU, the sneak peeks for the forthcoming series of Disney+, A docu-series Marvel’s 616 will be focussing on the females of Marvel Comics. Wilson has revealed her thoughts about Marvel Entertainment VP of the character.
Open To All Hate Mails
She said, “She [Amanat] called me out of the blue, and she said to me, ‘Hey, we want to create a new, young American Muslim superheroine and put her on her own ongoing series. Do you want to write this book and help develop this character? And I was pretty convinced that they were joking. Because I said there’s no way that you ran that past Marvel Comics and they said yes. How often does that happen? I didn’t say yes right away. To be called up by two editors at Marvel and told, ‘Yes, we want to put a Muslim editor and a Muslim writer on a book about a Muslim character,’ I was like, ‘You’re going to have to hire an intern just to open all of this hate mail.'”
Though, comics have struggled a lot with diversity. Because of this reason, Wilson thought an American Muslim superhero would make the place. It has worked already for comic lovers. She has agreed to work with Marvel, thus many of her fans are relieved.
Ms. Marvel TV series will be another big step for MCU and for Disney. This will open the character to the wider audience. In all those years, Marvel has worked hard to increase the representation of characters in their movies. Black Panther and Captain Marvel are important in the same regard. Hopefully, this push would be for the inclusion of phase 4 of the MCU. Because Ms. Marvel seems promising to the audiences as well.
