It’s a great year for My Hero Academia fans as they are getting more and more My Hero Academia action to witness. My Hero Academia franchise is rocking both the anime and the manga world with its amazing content, especially the newest story arc in the manga but I’m not going to spoil the fun revealing everything about it here. “Boku no Hīrō Akademia” a.k.a. My Hero Academia follows the story of a young boy, Izuku Midoriya, and his journey to becoming the world’s no. 1 hero.
This particular year is pretty lucky for fans as the anime series returned with its fifth season earlier this year and in addition to that, a brand- new movie of the series is also coming out in a matter of months. This would be the third feature-length movie of the franchise since the last movie, “My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising” came out in 2019.
Everything We Know About The New Movie
The movie is titled “My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission” and is set to be released on August 6 in Japan. Although a U.S. release date has not been announced yet, the fans have the fifth season of the series to keep them occupied in the meantime. The movie will be directed by Kenji Nagasaki, who has also been involved in the previous MHA movies. The news about the script being completed came out in April on Twitter along with the screenplay cover which shows Deku (Izuku’s hero name) gliding over the city, accompanied by Bakugo and Shoto along with Hawks and Endeavor.
A brief trailer for the movie and brings a major shock along with it. The trailer reveals that Deku is on the run and wanted for “Mass Murder” which is quite shocking considering hoe he never killed even the worst of his enemies. Let’s find out more about the plot details of the movie.
The Plot Of My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission
After taking a look at the trailer and the synopsis of the movie, we can mostly make out what World Heroes’ Mission would be about. The movie would closely follow the “Quirk Singularity Doomsday theory”, something which has been discussed during the fifth season of the series. The theory states that if powerful quirks are cultivated through generations for a long time, there would come a time in the future when the user would not be able to handle the massive power of the quirk and this would lead to the destruction of humanity.
In My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, there is a mysterious group called the “Humanize” which believes that the doomsday theory is true and that the quirks are curses bestowed by the heavens upon humanity. Therefore, they plan to eradicate all quirks and their users, restoring humanity to its prior self, and to do that, the humanize has planted time bombs around the world to kill all quirk users. To stop this genocide, Pro-Heroes from around the globe have been asked to disarm the bombs and stop Humanize’s plan.
The heroes request the young heroes in training from UA High school including Izuku, Katski, and Shoto, to join them and form the “World Selection Hero Team”, and help in stopping Humanize. This would be the BIGGEST threat that has ever emerged in the MHA universe and it’s up to our young heroes to stop it and save everyone. Our young heroes are also getting new stealth suits that are more suited for the mission and the character design for their costumes has also been released. With all that said, My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission would likely be a blast and force the fans on the edge of their seats.
