Natalie Portman is in Australia to start shooting Thor: Love and Thunder. Oscar Winner Natalie Portman made her debut in the MCU as Jane Foster in Thor (2011).
She returned in Thor: The Dark World (2013) and then a brief appearance in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Now Natalie Portman is set to come back to the world of Thor but in a different role as Jane Foster became the female Thor in Ragnarok follow up Love and Thunder. The idea of the new Thor is taken from comic books. The character becomes ill because of cancer and gets assistance from Asgard. In a twist, each time Foster picks up the hammer and turns into Thor, her cancer therapies would reverse.
Not Much Known About Love and Thunder
Portman’s vastly broadened role as Foster/Thor in Love and Thunder was disclosed back in 2019, but there hasn’t been much news since then about her and the movie. Now though, The Daily Mail reports that Portman has come with her family in Australia and is saying that she’s to begin work on the film, though there has been no authorization on this. Pictures of Portman and her children reaching the airport in Sydney are out.
Portman herself said in an interview that filming on the 4th Thor film would start in Australia in early 2021.
If she is in Australia to begin the work on the film could be indicated by the production as it is moving quicker than it was anticipated. Obviously, it is good news for the fans of Thor and Marvel. But there is no official confirmation that the film is underway.
If this is true, then there is no doubt many teases will be coming soon from Waititi and the company through social media. In addition to Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth stars in the film alongside Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale.
