Neil Patrick Harris undoubtedly fits the bag. He is a shade with qualities. This has been displayed in the performance of Harris as Count Olaf in A Series of Unfortunate Events. The villain of this kind would be fitting well in The Matrix where they will be more of a human than a machine.
The Matrix is a combination of digital and real worlds. It shows the struggle of man vs machines. There are more chances of a human villain in The Matrix 4.
If The Matrix 4’s major enemy would be a human, they would be overseeing some kind of pro-Matrix cult that supports being “plugged-in” rather than existing in the real world. Neil Patrick Harris is perfect for the attitude of a villain. It’s also interesting that The Matrix 4 has cast Jonathan Groff who, like Harris, has a piece of knowledge in musical theatre.
If the decided cult faction emerges in Zion, it would necessarily be enough reason to give rise to Neo back from the dead.
