Production has resumed for the Netflix show, The Witcher Season 2 after much of the anticipation. The following installment of the show by Netflix was put on hold due to the pandemic caused by a coronavirus. Fans were left in the dark that we could only hope for the cast and crew to be together.
Stephen Surjik, the director who has directed two episodes of The Witcher, has used Instagram to share something. He has indicated on Instagram that the filming is now underway.
He has written on Instagram post, “It’s T minus 3 min to ignition and lift off for our second run at Witcher S2.”
“Everyone is being cautious but spirits are high. You’re looking out for a new COVID communication system, reducing close contact among the crew. Thank you, Matt, Kelly Lauren, and Netflix,” he has added to the post.
Netflix Has Earlier Confirmed This
It is just a few days that Netflix has already indicated about season 2 of The Witcher in June.
The official Twitter handle for the show has released that the team would be back on 17 August.
It stated, “I’m dusting off my lute and quill/I have some news, some mead to spill. After all the months we’ve been apart/It’s time for production to restart. The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless/Will reunite on set 17 August.”
Though we are not knowing much about the release date of the season at least we know the production is underway.
There was a lot of hype and enthusiasm for season 2 of The Witcher on Netflix. The hype began just after the 1st season that aired last year on Netflix.
The show has got favorable reviews. Even Henry Cavill has recorded a lot of praise for his role as Geralt of Rivia.
The second season was slated to release in 2021 before the pandemic hit. But then it was halted. It seems as if the production is still facing certain issues. But maybe the team would make sure that the plan would work out and they would not need the change in dates.
