Netflix has broken the record that was set by HBO last year in Emmy Awards. HBO has taken 137 nominations home, last year. The huge portion was carried out by Game of Thrones.
Now the program has ended. Netflix is topping the charts and is celebrating the huge success by taking home a huge slice of categories available to it.
One of the biggest was the Ozark. It stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. The streaming service has walked away with 18 nominations.
Linney said to The New York Times that she has forgotten about the nominations that were due on Tuesday. She received the amazing news when she was at a doctor.
Linney was asked the reason for the show’s popularity. She said, “Right now, everyone is trying to figure out who we are, who we want to be, how we treat each other, how we treat ourselves – and I think that all has something to do with it. It’s also suspenseful, and there’s a really good ensemble.”
Netflix has scored a huge portion of nominations. But HBO’s Watchmen has appeared to be the standout. It has received 26 impressions.
Mrs. Maisel has got 20 Emmy Award nominations. It includes nominations for Best Comedy and Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Rachel Brosnahan.
Dan Levy Shows Excitement After Award Recognition
Loveable Schitt’s Creek has got 15 nods for the final season. Dan Levy, star, showrunner, and Co-creator was overwhelmed when the news came. He told Entertainment Weekly, “It obviously feels very Schitt’s Creek to get a bunch of award recognitions and not be able to actually go to the awards.”
“That’s really the focus on going to the Emmys in the first place – getting to see your friends and co-workers all dressed up and getting celebrated for the work that they’re doing.”
“So hopefully if Canada can keep the coronavirus at bay, we would have maybe like a dinner party and celebrate with the people who got the show to this incredible place.”
He added, “It’ll be an intimate affair, one that I think will have a lot of heart, and the proper amount of Canadian humility.”
Other mentions are Stranger Things that have got 8 nominations, Hollywood with 12 nominations. Dead to Me has got 4 nominations and Unorthodox has 8 nominations.
