Netflix has confirmed that the new Resident Evil series will release in 2021. Netflix has even released a brand new teaser trailer for the same.
While dropping the teaser, Netflix said, “Based on the Capcom video game franchise, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a horror series with a sci-fi twist.”
“Coming 2021 only on Netflix.”
It is now confirmed that the new Resident Evil series will release in 2021.
There were rumors about the new Resident Evil series from Netflix that were circulating for some time. But it was not clear until August when the streaming platform confirmed it officially. Now it is even confirmed that Resident Evil will release in 2021.
While responding to the hearsay, the NX On Netflix Twitter account has shared a picture of the script of the first episode on Twitter. It stated, “Resident Evil, a new live-action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix.”
It even added, “The 8 x 1 hour episode season will be helmed by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead, The Journey Is the Destination) will direct the first two episodes.”
The attached image has shown the front page of the script for episode #101 of the project. It has been titled ‘Welcome to New Raccoon City‘.
New Resident Evil Series Synopsis
A full synopsis states of the new Resident Evil series, “In the first timeline, 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.”
“Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than 15 million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters – people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past – about her sister, her father, and herself – continue to haunt her.”
Now, we know that the series will premiere at any time in 2021.
