According to an article of Deadline, Nicolas Cage will voice a vodka swilling dragon, that is the lead character in TV series Highfire. Highfire is based on a novel by Eoin Colfer. He has also written the best seller Artemis Fowl.
The book is described as the sort of mash-up in between True Detective and Dragon of Pete.
The book is now ready to get an adaptation for a live-action TV show by Davey Holmes. And also, it promises to be a ‘genre-bending gritty-crime-thriller with doses of magical realism’.

Lord Highfire was a ruler of the dragons, according to Deadline. He now spends his time hiding out in his cottage. He watched TV all day long and is ‘drinking obscene amounts of vodka’ to pass the time.
He ends up meeting a human teenager named Squib. He is a booze runner for the local mob. He got himself involved in the world of crime for survival as the duo form an uncertain friendship.

According to Variety, this is not the only project Cage is labouring on, he’s also assigned to star in and executive produce a unique scripted TV series about Joe Exotic.
However, there are not many details. Variety says the series will be an eight-episode series. It will be based on a Texas Monthly article.
Also, Cage is tipped to take on a less challenging role as himself. The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent is about the fictional version of Cage himself.
