Netflix’s “Operation Odessa” is a crime story that is a non-fiction show that is dreamed up by Adnan Khashoggi and Mel Brooks. The film revolves around real-life drug runners. Since the film landed on Netflix, fans’ reactions suggest that it’s definitely worth watching if you are a true crime fan. However, the film was released in 2018 but still will viewers are blown away by the film.
Operation Odessa: Hits the reality
The film follows the story of three characters named Juan Almeida who is a car dealer/fixer/co-conspirator in the 90’s submarine scheme, Nelson Tony Yester who is a drug smuggler, and Ludwig Tarzan who decides to take the bold move of bumping a Russian Mob. The three involved in the $35 million sales of Soviet submarines to the Cali cocaine cartel. The film is directed by Tiller Russell and produced by Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman, Sheldon Yellen.
The film has everything which includes drug runners, arms dealers, and gangsters with a mixture of comedy. When a DEA agent told Russell that it was one of the best stories he’d ever heard in his career. Russell took a chance and presented in the best way possible.

Netflix’s Narcos is based on true events. The series follows a story of a real-life gangster Pablo Escobar. Narcos has released three seasons, the first two seasons revolve around Pablo’s astonishing life and death. Narcos proved that drug, mafia themed shows can be a real success. The series has been one of the most popular in the crime drama.
