Following the casting of an actress to portray the role of She-hulk and Ms. Marvel, Oscar Issac has been cast to play the role of Moon Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Reportedly, Oscar Issac has been tapped as the lead for Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Disney+ series named Moon Knight. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is trying to make a slew of series on Disney+, which has some ties with their movies. The first batch of shows centre on pre-established MCU characters like Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), but Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced at D23 last year that there will also be three projects that are going to be the reason of the introduction of new characters in the franchise.
After She-Hulk and Ms Marvel, Moon Knight is going to feature a new character in the series. Since Marvel has announced the series, fans excitement has crossed every bar and they are eagerly waiting to see which actor is going to be in the spotlight while playing the lead role. Tatiana Maslay was first announced to portray the role of She-hulk, after that newcomer Iman Vellani will be playing the role of Ms. Marvel, following these two, fans were waiting to see the face of Moon Knight.
Now according to a report by Deadline, Oscar Issac is in negotiations to play the lead role of Moon Knight as Marc Spector, a mercenary with numerous alter egos who later becomes a conduit for the Egyptian god Khonsu. But the thing is Marvel hasn’t said anything about Issac playing the role of Moon Knight. Because of the empty director chair, a production start date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Isaac is just coming off a run as Poe Dameron in Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy; his jump to the MCU means Isaac now has had a hand in two of the biggest ongoing franchises today. Beyond that, fans will get a chance to see Issac in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, which is going to see it’s release on October 21, it was planned to release on December 20 but coronavirus used its release date. In being cast as the MCU’s Marc Spector, Isaac beats out fan-favorite Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Invisible Man), who many thoughts fit the “Zac Efron type” Marvel was reportedly looking for.
No doubt, Issac’s casting as Mark is going to boost up fans excitement particularly those who felt his last foray into the superhero genre (2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse) missed the mark. Isaac is a talented actor who will fit perfectly into the MCU, and it’ll be exciting to see how his role evolves.
