Prepare yourselves to witness the Shelby family in action for one last time. Peaky Blinders Season 6 is going to be the last season of the series and hence it the most important one yet.
Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama series created by Steven Knight. The show is set in Birmingham and follows the story of the Peaky Blinders gang and their brilliant and cunning boss Thomas Shelby. Peaky Blinders is inspired by the story of the real urban gang Peaky Blinders, who were involved in illegal bookmaking and the control of gambling, popular among the public because of their signature peaked flat caps.
The show is insanely popular around the world with a rating of 8.8 on IMDb and 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been quite a success. Each season of Peaky Blinders has managed to win over the fans with a greater and greater uncertain yet amazing turn of events that come into practice by the show’s lead Thomas Shelby. The shooting for Peaky Blinders season 6 got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic but luckily after so much wait, it finally restarted in January 2021.
The Story So Far
It’s been nearly a year and a half since the latest season of Peaky Blinders ended in 2019 and with such a major Cliffhanger that practically blew up the minds of the watchers. Season 5 of Peaky Blinders is quite special as this was the first season in which Thomas Shelby lost to his rival, unlike the other seasons where he ultimately defeats them in one way or another. In the final episode of Peaky Blinders season 5, Thomas Shelby has arranged an assassination attempt on his political rival, Oswald Mosley, which eventually fails due to uncertain reasons.
Throughout the season, Thomas Shelby repeatedly hallucinates of his dead wife Grace, who tries to convince him to commit suicide and join her in the afterlife. Failing to take out his rival, Thomas loses his mind and is seen running into an empty field where Grace is present with a black horse, screaming and holding a gun to his head. The hype for Peaky Blinders season 6 is massive considering the climax of the previous season where Thomas Shelby actually lost for the first time.
What To Expect In Peaky Blinders Season 6
The long-awaited question “Whether or not Thomas Shelby pull the trigger” in the previous season would finally be answered with an obvious reply as Cillian Murphy, who plays the character of Thomas Shelby, confirmed that his character would be return in the final season. The season will contain 6 episodes like the rest of the season and would finally reveal the ones responsible for the failed assassination attempt i.e. who has betrayed Thomas Shelby.
Anthony Bryne, the director of season 5 and 6 of Peaky Blinders, revealed in an Instagram Live video that the filming of Peaky Blinders season 6 was finished with a lot of hard work and took almost 13 days just to film a single episode. He also teased that Peaky Blinders season 6 would pick up directly after season 5’s end, with Thomas Shelby in the field with a gun to his head.
There have been some major ongoing rumors about what would happen in Peaky Blinders Season 6, the biggest one being “Rowan Atkinson’s appearance as Adolf Hitler” on the show, as it was previously hinted that Mosley was a friend of his. Gina’s American mob family is also expected to appear in the show considering the tension aroused between her husband Michael and Thomas Shelby.
Tom Hardy’s appearance as Alfie is also expected due to his surprising return in the previous season. There have been talks of Kate Phillips returning as Linda, but it’s highly improbable considering she tried to kill her husband Arthur and Arthur’s “Fook Linda” reaction expressing the end of his love for his wife. This might very well be the last chance for the fans to witness Thomas Shelby’s cigarette overdose, Arthur Shelby’s crazy reactions, Peaky Boys with their signature Peaks, and their indiscriminate use of curse language or “Fooks” as popular among fans. Whatever happens, the last season of Peaky Blinders would like to be an epic conclusion to the most amazing series in television history
