Deadpool is the Favourite Anti-hero in Marvel Universe
The Merc with a Mouth or Deadpool as he is formally known is one of the most lovable characters in the entire Marvel Universe. But Why do people love Deadpool so much? That is the question we are answering today. So without further ado let’s get this show rolling.
Before moving forward, a spoiler warning is now in effect as we will be diving deep into comics and movies in the Marvel Universe.
Deadpool or Wade Wilson started as an antihero in 1991 comic New Mutants issue 98. Through 1991 he went on his outings with the Avengers, the X-Men and even the Defenders before getting his own standalone comic 1997. Now that we have introduced the already famous characters in the Marvel Universe, let’s get to the point. Why do we love Deadpool?
Now, when we talk about loving him, a lot of characteristics come to play. His attitude & his personality are just some of the biggest parts in contribution. With this he meant, how Deadpool is one sarcastic person who only loves and works for himself. That’s why people feel so connected to him.
Another reason how he is the impersonation of the things we want to do but can’t due to social and legal restraints. Like want to fly a jet but not having the money for it, if you are Deadpool will just go and steal that jet and fly without any permission and future consequences. And just not about that jet he did a lot of things which we really loved and wanted to do but couldn’t cause the world is here to stop us. Please don’t do anything illegal, we are just saying this to make a connection between us and the character, so please don’t go around stealing a jet.
The third reason is his ability to 4th wall break. The capability of doing pop culture references throughout his comics and movies. With this we mean he makes references to things that exist in our real life. Like, how he knows that he is a comic book character. And let’s not mention how he knows about Ryan Reynolds playing him in the movie.
Last but not the least, the curses and the action. We mean who doesn’t like a good action with some good abuses and curses. We are not contemplating that violence and curses are a good thing. But who doesn’t like your favourite anti-hero reloading his gun in midair while saying F**k?
These were some of the factors that we can use as a reason why people love Deadpool so much. And just like once Deadpool said, “ House blowing up builds character”.
