The Last of Us episode 8’s newly-released photos introduce David’s new surviving community. Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) explore a Colorado university for the Fireflies, the final known site of the revolutionary faction’s laboratory, after leaving Tommy (Gabriel Luna) behind in the safe town of Jackson, Wyoming. The two are then assaulted by an unidentified band of raiders, leaving Joel seriously hurt. In episode seven, Joel is taken by Ellie to a private garage in a residential area where she makes an effort to heal him.

The forthcoming antagonist David (Scott Shepherd) and his survivor colony, which was never fully shown in the original computer game, are introduced in the most recent HBO release of new pictures from The Last of Us episode 8. The images tease Troy Baker, the original voice actor and performance actor who played Joel in the game and show Ellie gently keeping David at a safe distance while holding Joel’s rifle.

What to Expect in Episode 8 of The Last of Us

David is shown in one of the brand-new screenshots from The Last of Us episode 8 addressing a congregation while holding what appears to be a Bible. Behind the commander, a sign with a biblical saying teases his new role as a preacher. Although David played a significant part in the video game’s Winter chapter, the HBO adaptation has included his function as a religious figurehead.

The Last of Us episode 8 seems to begin right after episode 7, with Ellie still taking care of Joel, who is still bedridden and recovering from the broken baseball bat wound. Ellie is shown in the suspenseful episode trailer looking for food to keep herself and Joel alive. Ellie, however, needs to be careful not to divulge Joel’s location given the appearance of David and his group.

The teaser hinted at David’s motivations, suggesting that he could desire to accept her into his own neighborhood. Yet, David also claims that because his people want her dead, he is the only one keeping her from a certain demise. It appears that the two do not agree given that the video depicts Ellie firing her rifle at his guys and one of the community’s buildings on fire. Ellie will have to battle a vicious new organization in The Last of Us’s return while trying to keep Joel alive. Source: HBO Max
