Johns announced his plans for the Pin Pen in Stargirl Season 2 when he was asked a question about Jakeem Thunder, a character that was promptly related to the weapon in the original DC Comics.
Johns stated that Stargirl introduces characters at a distinct pace, not to bloat the storyline with various arcs. Thus implying that he would not introduce Jakeem instantly in the upcoming season.
