Being one of the most loved vampire shows, the makers finally decided to bring ‘The Originals’ vampires to rest. The show was about the first family of vampires, the creators of the entire line of vampires and witches, and in fact HYBRIDS. The show revolves around Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillis), Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), Freya Mikaelson (Riley Voelkel), and several of the other characters like Hayley, Camille, Vincent, Marcel, and Davina. The Original family and the siblings’ oath to “Always and Forever” be there for each other at all times is the centerline of the show. It’s not like all good, they fight and sometimes are after each other’s lives but in the end, they always remember the lesson that “They Are Family”.
The Originals: Storyline
The show ended in 2018 wherein the final episode, Klaus and Elijah kill each other with ‘White Stakes’ (not like fighting and all, they had to do it because that was the only option to save HOPE (Klaus’s daughter) so the brother duo decides to kill each other and leave the Earth (after around 1000 years of existence) once and for all (at least that’s what we know for now). Though these two died, their sister Rebekah who always longed for a family of her own and wanted to turn human was finally granted that wish by his brother Klaus, in his final moments as a Hybrid (combination of Vampire and Werewolf).
The Cure for Humanity
Maker Julie Plec explained that it was “Damon Salvatore” who is the cure. Rebekah will find it and have a ‘life of her dreams’ with Marcel Gerard. Julie explained, “Damon Salvatore will grow old and have babies and grandbabies and great-grandbabies with Elena Gilbert Salvatore and when he finally decides to die, side by side with her, he’ll hand over the cure to Rebekah”. Adding to this she also said “Rebekah is now at the mercy of Damon” and explained the concept that “When you take the cure out of a former vampire, they age and die”. Basically “When Damon’s ready to go i.e. when Elena is ready to go, Rebekah will get the cure”.
It might be unfortunate for Rebekah but for fans, they were happy that The Original story doesn’t end with their demise, Legacies (spinoff) started where Hope Mikaelson (Klaus and Hayley’s daughter) goes to this school called “Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted”.
Well, when they said “ALWAYS AND FOREVER”, they certainly meant it.
